Dodge Ann

Dodge Ann sustained a career ending injury in September of 2005. She broke her right rear hock pretty badly. She has a metal bone plate and screws that partially immobilize her hock. Her skin is very thin and delicate, and will not heal properly over the metal plate. Because of concerns about infection, surgery to remove the plate is scheduled for April 6th. We can see her bones becoming denser on the x-rays as they heal, but they will be weak for some time. Although her leg must be very tender, she calmly lets me change her bandages every day. She deserves the best care we can give her.
