This hall of famer's greatest achievement was his stud record.  Named the number one stud in the nation in 1982, Onie sired hundreds of suberb racing greyhounds.  Sons Corgin and Placid Ace maintained positions in the top five of the distance sire standing, while another son K's Flak, was listed fifth as a sprint sire.  All three were in the top ten of the all distance sire standings.  Sons K's Flak and My Problem were named to all america teams, as were grandsons BJ's Justin, Prince Proper and Seeinandbeinseen.  Another grandson P's Rambling, set six track records and the world 3/8th of a mile record in 1987.  A son, Placid Ace was first on the Sire stnadings list of 1986 stake greyhounds.

Onie Jones, in just two or three generations, has become omnipresent in the American bloodlines, having crossed with practically all major lineages. Standing out, though, were his historic crosses with speed stock especially that deriving from Ireland; Yellow Printer*, Sandy Printer, Share Profit*, Air Patrol*, Sunbow*, these combinations may have been so great because of Onie's endurance combined with Irish speed.
