Lucky Roll
Inducted into the greyhound hall of fame
in 1965, Lucky Roll is the pillar of the American Bloodlines that extend
to the dogs racing today. His sire an Austrailan import Just Andrew
(Andrew Micawber) and dam Mustard Roll, an Irish import out of Mutton
Cutlet bring together the two largest bloodlines of the first 60 years
of greyhound track racing. Lucky Roll was whelped September 16, 1931
in Anaconda Montana. Lucky Roll became the first greyhound to
win as many as 60 races during the pari-mutual era of the sport. His
years at stud earned an incredible $35,000 in the 1930's.
