Flashy Sir

Flashy Sir started in 80 races between 1944 and 1947 and won 60 of them.  He earned $50,000 in winnings in one year alone and averaged $1,200 a month in stud fees.  Sportswriters dubbed him the Seabiscut of racing dogs.  Flashy Sir earned the reputation of being the world's greatest Greyhound.  Flashy Sir was so well respected in fact when the Greyhound Hall of Fame came about, he joined legends Real Huntsman and Rural Rube as the first three inductees.  The National Greyhound Association also honored his name in calling its prize for America's best distance Greyhound, the Flashy Sir Award.
