This
is the best greyhound book for owners / prospective adopters I've
seen, and I've collected them all. Beautiful photos, easy-to-read
information. Vast topics not seen elsewhere, and help for specific
problems like separation anxiety. Great advice for families with young
children. Add this to your greyhound library - a must! |

a bible by many Greyhound people, both professional and pet owners
alike. |
 |
The Complete Book of Greyhounds, by Julia Barnes. Another very good
resource and a fascinating read. This book is worth it's price
just for the many high quality glossy photo's. |

DOG TRAINING & BEHAVIOR

The Culture Clash is special. Written in Jean's inimitably informal
yet precise lecture style, the book races along on par with a good
thriller. *The Culture Clash depicts dogs as they really are - stripped
of their Hollywood fluff, with their loveable 'can I eat it, chew
it, urinate on it, what's in it for me' philosophy. Jean's tremendous
affection for dogs shines through at all times, as does her keen insight
into the dog's mind. Relentlessly she champions the dog's point of
view, always showing concern for their education and well being. Without
a doubt, Jean's book is the hottest doggy item on the market. Best
Training Book Of The Year! (Maxwell Award) |

Kilcommons does new families a great favor with this book. "Child-proofing
Your Dog" is a common sense approach to introducing your new child
to your dog, preventing problems, and ensuring a long, close relationship.
He dispels myths and gives new parents an idea of what to expect both
from their dog and from themselves. He identifies often-missed (or
excused) signs of dominance in dogs, explaining the natural progression
from dominance to aggression if left unchecked. In cases where there
is a specific problem involving advanced aggression toward a child
he advises going to a professional, as would any responsible dog trainer
in print. Kilcommons and Wilson have years of experience and wisdom
in dog behavior and training; they've written a trustworthy, important
'preventative manual.' |
