GEM has received many questions regarding the Event. We have posted those questions, along with the answers, on this page. As more questions are asked, they will be answered here.
Q) When is the 2016 Greyhound Event of Michigan?
A) May 13th-15th, 2016, at the Livonia Holiday Inn and Conference Center.
Q) How can I volunteer to help at this event?
A) Email email@example.com and we will sign you up.
Q) Are dogs allowed at all activities?
A) Absolutely! Dogs are allowed at all activities including the auction, Saturday buffet
Dinner and Sunday brunch presentation. Dogs are not allowed in the hotel pool
area or Restaurant.
Q) Are there activities Friday night for early arrivals?
A) Yes. There will be vending, complimentary pizza and pop, available for registered attendees. Sponsored by Domino’s, Coca-Cola.

Steve Wirtz (Cartuna Art Gallery and Studio) will be offering a build your own greyhound class Friday night starting about 7:00pm. Class cost is $40 per person. Half of cost is being donated to GEM and Steve is also providing supplies needed. Seats are limited so register early, registration for class will close when filled. STEVE WIRTZ IS A FULL-TIME ARTIST WORKING PRIMARILY IN THE 3-D REALM. HIS CURRENT MATERIALS OF CHOICE ARE WIRE AND PAPER. STEVE SELLS HIS ART AT FESTIVALS AROUND THE COUNTRY, AND IS REPRESENTED BY A SELECT NUMBER OF FINE GALLERIES.
Q) What is the cost of registration and meals?
A) Registration is $10.00 on-line and $15.00 at the door. Children 12 and under
are FREE. Hospitality Social on Friday night is FREE to everyone REGISTERED for
the Event. The Adult Dinner Buffet on Saturday is $25.00. Sunday Breakfast Buffet
and presentation is $15.00 if you are not a hotel guest. We have an all
inclusive Weekend Package Deal for attendees NOT STAYING AT THE HOTEL
which is $45.00 per person which includes Registration, Friday night Hospitality
Social, Saturday Dinner Buffet and Sunday Breakfast Buffet. If you are staying at
the hotel you will receive vouchers for breakfast which INCLUDES Sunday Buffet.
Q) Is there a special room rate for this event?
A) A special rate of $94.00 has been negotiated for Greyhound Event of Michigan
guests. When calling be sure to inform them that you are registering for the 2016
Greyhound Event of Michigan, or GreytHounds of Eastern Michigan.

Q) When can I reserve my room and what do I need?
A) Reservations are available with a major credit card by calling 1-800-465-
4329, or online at: Holiday Inn Livonia If calling the hotel, be sure to mention you
are attending the 2016 Greyhound Event of Michigan to receive the special room
Q) How long is the special room rate in effect?
A) The special room rate can be used up to 3 days before and 3 days after the Event
or until all rooms are filled.
Q) What are the room rate & amenities?
A) All rooms are $94.00 per night plus tax and fees. Two morning buffet vouchers will
be provided per room, per night stay. If you are NOT staying at the hotel Saturday
night you WILL need to purchase GEM’s Sunday Buffet tickets when you register for

Q) Is there a pet cleaning fee?
A) Yes, there is a $20.00 NON-REFUNDABLE fee that covers your entire stay.
Q) Is breakfast available?
A) Hotel guests receive 2 vouchers for breakfast with each night’s room stay. Non-hotel
guests may purchase GEM’s Sunday Breakfast Buffet by paying $15.00 with their
Q) Is Saturday Lunch available?
A) Saturday lunch will be available ala carte from the hotel. The following will be

- House tossed salad with dressings $4.00
- House tossed salad with sliced grilled chicken $5.00
- Cole slaw or potato salad $2.00

Please make your selection during on-line registration to help the hotel with quantities needed. Payment for lunch will be collected by the hotel at time of purchase.
Q) Is Saturday dinner self-serve?
A) Yes, it is a buffet.
Q) Is Saturday dinner free for children?
- Children under 6 eat free.
- Children between 6 and 12 will require a meal ticket be purchased for them at the cost of $15.00 each.
- Children 13 and above pay full price.
Q) What is the menu for Saturday Night dinner?
A) Dinner will be buffet style, all you can eat, for people only and will include:
Chicken Marsala-Chicken breast with a Marsala wine and mushroom demi glaze
Pasta with a Marinara meat sauce
Tossed salad with 2 assorted dressings
Baby red potatoes
Warm rolls and Butter
Coffee, Hot Tea, and Ice tea
Q) What is the menu for Gem’s Sunday Breakfast Buffet?
A) GEM’s Sunday Breakfast Buffet will include
Bacon and Sausage
Danish, bagels, muffins, donuts
Cold Cereals and Milk
Sliced Fresh Fruit
White and Wheat toast
Regular and Decaffeinated Coffee
Q) What if I have medical dietary needs?
A) If you have medical dietary needs, please indicate this on the registration
page. We will make every effort to meet your needs. Medical dietary request will
only be accepted with on-line registration. No walk-in request will be available.
Q) What will the T-Shirt look like this year?
A) Below is an example of what this year’s event T-Shirt color and layout will look like.
Q) Can I order just a T-Shirt?
A) Yes, you can order just a T-Shirt by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
providing your name and T-Shirt size. All T- Shirts are $20.00 tax included.

Q) Will there be a door prize this year?
A) Yes, this year there will be 2 door prizes. The first is a toy box handcrafted by Bill Helm with a
Greyhound decal on the front of the box and on the inside of the top, the box
measures 18h x 24w x 13.5d. The second door prize will be a concrete sitting
Greyhound statue that measures 32H x 12W x 16D donated by an anonymous
donor. Tickets for the door prize will be available on-line and at the Event. Tickets
will be $2 each or 3 for $5. Drawing will be Saturday at dinner. Each person
registered will receive one free door prize ticket. You must be present
