Q) What is GEM’S involvement in the Abilene Gathering Event?
A) GEM is administrating the registration for the Abilene Gathering and is one of the beneficiaries of the event.

Q) What are the dates of the event?
A) The event begins on Thursday June 5th and ends on Sunday June 8th.  See the link above for the detailed schedule.

Q) Where is the event held?
A) Headquarters for the event is at the Greyhound Hall of Fame
407 S. Buckeye, Abilene, KS.  Directions: From I-70, take exit 275 go 2 miles South to the GH Hall of Fame is on the right.

Q) Where can I bring my dogs?
A) Dogs are allowed at all events except the farm tours and NGA tour. Kennel
facilities at the NGA will be available for the farm tours and NGA tour. You will
need to bring bedding and a water bowl. These are racing style kennel/crates.
You might also choose to leave a well-behaved GH at the motel.

Q) What is the registration fee?
A) The registration fee is $40 per person.

Q) What does the registration fee include?
A) The fee includes refreshments at the Welcome to Abilene party,
Dessert at the Friday night party and 2 continental breakfasts.

Q) What is the menu for Saturday night’s diner?
A) Dinner menu catered by Brookville Hotel Restaurant:

  • Sweet-Sour Cole-Slaw (Family Pennsylvania Recipe)
  • Fried Chicken
  • Mashed Potatoes w/ Cream Gravy
  • Cream-Style Corn
  • Baking Powder Biscuits with Creamy Butter and Preserves

Q) What does the event tee-shirt look like?
A) The event tee shirt features the Prancing with the Stars graphic drawn by U.K. artist Susan Allison.
They are Gildan tees that can be ordered in white, ash (gray) or natural (off-white). The graphic is transparent
so the color of the shirt will show through the print. They are $15 each. We will have some additional quantities
for sale at the event, but not all sizes in all colors. See tee shirt examples below.

Q) What else is there to do in Abilene?
A) There are five world-class museums located in a four square block area.
All are within walking distance from the Greyhound Hall of Fame.
