Poorly dressed in rough brown cloth, a small thin man taught others about compassion for the smallest of creatures. St. Francis of Assisi chose to live in poverty, devoting much of his life to animal welfare. One side of this pewter-like medal for your pet depicts St. Francis blessing a dog. On the other side is St. Anthony of Padua (Patron saint of lost things and the animal kingdom). Today, we celebrate the “Feast of St. Francis” on October 4th. Every Fall, over 1,000 pets are blessed at the feast of St. Francis at New York’s Cathedral of St. John the Devine. Pray for My Pet Good St. Francis, you loved all God’s creatures. To you they were your brothers and sisters. Help us follow your example of treating every living thing with kindness. St. Francis, patron saint of animals, watch over my pet and keep my companion safe. AMEN
This beautiful St. Francis medal can be worn by both humans and canines. Imported from Italy
