"Greta's Design"

Design is such a lovely boy! He was a champion at the track last year and now is learning the fun in being retired! He went up and down stairs from the very first day I had him. He loves his blue squeeky/squawker stuffie. As every day goes by, he's learning that not all things are as scary as they seemed the first few days off of the track. He's great at meeting people and other greyhounds, although, small dogs and cats are a big no-no for him. He's learning to crate well and soon will be working on learning to sit and lay down. He's just a lover boy who will lay down next to you and let you pet him as long as your arm can stand it. Desi was adopted on 11/12/2006 by Kathy Lazenby.
After arriving in Michigan Desi went through the SCAL program at the Coldwater Prison in Michigan. The bond between Desi and his trainer was obvious and it was mutually decided that Desi would remain in the facility as a therapy dog. This second set of pictures is after a year and a half working there, he got out for good behavior to see the vet. Hmmm would that really be considered a perk by a dog? He got to visit a local pet store, go for a walk, and then received his clean bill of health. Then it was back to work.
